Description

The forest of Montarbu (literally “white mountain”, from the Latin albus) takes its name from the light color of the limestone rocks that form this mountain range. It is a protected nature reserve between Montarbu and Monte Tonneri, where several limestone tacchi are present. It has great naturalistic importance, with species that vary according to altitude. There are extensive holm-oak woods, holly, helichrysum, dwarf juniper, faunal endemisms, as well as common animals.
