Description
The archaeological complex, located on a rocky spur, includes some Domus de Janas (single-room burials dating back to 3000 BC) excavated in two granite boulders at the base of the prominence, while on top of it there is a finely built and preserved nuraghe (1500-1200 BC), 5 m high, with an entrance to the south-east. Underneath the main tower, a secondary complex was built using stone blocks and exploiting existing natural cavities. Around the nuraghe, there are huts of a Nuragic village.
How to get there: from Tortolì, drive along the SS 198 in the direction of Lanusei. After about 5 km you will see the roadman’s house of Bau Nuxi on the right side. After another 500 meters, you will reach a junction on the left, marked by signs. As you go along this road you will find another junction on the left, marked by an information sign for tourists: following the dirt road, you will arrive at a gate, open during visiting hours, and then proceed for a few hundred meters until you reach the site.
