Description
Nuraghe Mannu stands on a plateau of volcanic origin, 200 metres above sea level, from which the whole gulf and the Codula di Fuili can be seen; the latter is a small canyon that opens onto the beach of the same name. It is a strategic position for the safety of the settlement, rich in natural barriers that were very useful for defending the inhabited area.
The archaeological site consists of a simple nuraghe surrounded by a Nuragic and Roman settlement, with dozens of huts, extending over more than two hectares. The tholos nuraghe is built with large polyhedral basalt boulders arranged in irregular courses. The entrance faces east, toward the sea. To reach the inner chamber, one passes through a corridor where, on the left, the stairwell opens and still preserves twelve steps of the original access stairway.
In particular, Nuraghe Mannu is known for the evident coexistence of different cultures, with Roman culture superimposed on Nuragic culture. This confirms the site's importance also as a guard point for trade routes. In the Roman-period structures, rooms intended for civil use and storage can be seen, with silos, millstones and jar fragments superimposed on the Nuragic structures.

Reviews
