Civico Museo del Cavallino della Giara

The Civico Museo del Cavallino della Giara tells the story of the relationship between Genoni, the Giara plateau and the small horse that has become its symbol of identity. The exhibition is not limited to a naturalistic perspective: it connects environment, rural work and community memory, showing how the presence of the small horses has accompanied the life of the village and its collective imagination. The section devoted to the Cavallo della Giara follows the animal's life cycle through images, materials and educational content, while the ethnographic section preserves farming tools, shepherds' and carpenters' implements, household objects and oral testimonies collected among the inhabitants. The museum thus functions as a house of memory, where material culture is not separated from the landscape that produced it.
